Yoshimitsu lived in a castle called Kinkaku-Ji. Yoshimitsu bought it from Saionji Kintsune. After he bought the Villa he turned it into the Kinkaku-Ji Complex.Upon his death his son turned it into a temple. During the Onin War all the buildings were burnt down, except for the Pavillion. Now called the Golden Pavillion, which is the Pavillion left after the Onin War, but rebuilt after a 22 year old tried to burn it in 1950. It is a 3 storey building on the Rokuon Temple Complex, also the top 2 storeys are built from solid golden leaf, hence the name Golden Pavillion. There are 3 different types of Architecture which are distinctly: Shinden, Samurai and Zen.
